I was getting dressed to go and look at property with my realtor partner when I heard the doorbell ring. Thinking that she had arrived early to pick me up, I looked out my bedroom window, but I didn't see her car in my driveway. I walked into the living room and opened the front door, but there was no one there, however, I did see a black cat who looked just like Nick rushing across the street.
She's a stray and has a thing for Mr. Nick. This past summer, she stood outside my bedroom window and meowed for him until he jumped up on the sill and they began meowing each other!
When my friend arrived, I told her what happened. She laughed and said, "She thought you were gone, and came over for her date with Nick!"

Nick's New Water Fountain
As I shared with you in my last post, my cat Nick, loves the bathroom. I really believe it's his favorite room in the house. This past summer, I thought it was so cute watching him drink out of the tub's faucet, however, for the last couple of weeks, he and I have been battling over my tub!
The situation came to a head about two weeks ago, when I was woke up late and had to hurry and jump into the shower so I could make it to work on time. As soon as I headed towards the bathroom, Nick raced pass me and jumped into the tub. I turned the water on so he could get a quick drink, and once he finished, I expected him to jump out of the tub and return to 'his' room to lick the excess water from his fur, but instead, the little chump began to groom himself right in the middle of my tub!
Me: "Nick, move, I gotta take my shower!"
Nick: (as he grooms himself) "Sure, chill, I'll be out in a minute.
Me: "Okay, you've been warned!"
I reach down and turned on the shower, which released a spray of water all on him! Shocked, he jumps out the tub and looks reproachfully at me as he leaves the bathroom...
Nick: (mumbling under his breath) "No, she didn't!
When I got to work and got settled in, I logged onto Walmart.com and purchased this for my little shower stealer: The Drinkwell Pet Fountain..
It's a great little water fountain, however, my cat is stubborn! We fought for about a two weeks after it arrived and I put it together. He sniffed it and turned up his nose and went to the bathroom and sat in the tub, waiting for me to turn on the water. I refused and when he realized I wasn't backing down, he dug in his heels even harder.
I eventually started closing the bathroom door, and not allowing him to come in at all. I kept it closed all day while I was at work, and of course I was concerned that he wasn't getting enough water, but I was determined to get my bathtub back!
Last Friday, two of my girlfriends stopped by and as we sat and chatted, I told them about my battle with Nick and the fountain. One of my friends happened to look into the kitchen and laughed. She motioned for me to come her, and I stood over and peeped into the kitchen, and low and behold, there was Nick drinking out of his water fountain...I just shook my head!! <

Meet Mr. Nick
Meet my cat Nick. He originally lived with my dad who found him as a kitten one day when he was taking his daily walk. After my dad passed away, Nick went to live with my older sister, who had two other cats, Rocky and Maxie. I had a beautiful Akita named Foxxie, so keeping Nick at that time wasn't an option. Then Foxxie passed away shortly after my dad, and I moved to a place that didn't allow pets. In 2013, I had moved to a house and my sister asked if I wanted Nick and I eagerly said, "Yes!"
Nick and I are old buddies. When he lived with my dad,and I stopped by to visit, he would hear my voice, and seemingly come out of nowhere to greet me. It's been great having Nick as my new house mate, but it didn't take long before he took control of the household!
Nick is around 7 years old and litter box trained. The transition from my sister's house to mine was very easy on him, and soon, he walked around like he owned the place!
One of his favorite places is my bathroom! He enjoys walking around the ledge of the tub, and after I come out of the shower, he usually jumps into the tub and drinks out of the faucet that I leave dripping for him!

" I'm about to jump in and drink some of that great water from the faucet!"
